Prague is the main and the largest city of the Czech Republic and the historical metropolis. Prague is generally perceived as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. And thanks to the unusual panoramas of Prague Castle - the largest castle complex in the world.

In Prague we can find countless sights and places to visit. For example, the Old Town Astronomical Clock in Old Town Square is the oldest astronomical clock in the world. The already mentioned Prague Castle, which houses the President of the Republic, the Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Square, where we find the National Museum and the statue of St. Wenceslas. We must not forget the Jewish part of the city, where we can find several synagogues and the Old Jewish Cemetery, and one of the 10 most important libraries in the world and the largest building complex in Europe - the Clementinum. In addition to the already mentioned Prague Castle, you can visit Vysehrad or the Troja Chateau.

To make your visit more enjoyable, you can take advantage of boat cruises and see the main monuments of Prague from the Vltava River. Among the cultural buildings with unique architecture are Karolinum, Rudolfinum, the National Theater and many others.

Prague offers countless parks and gardens, such as Vojanovy sady in Kampa, where you can enjoy beautiful peaks and when you are lucky to look at you with your eyes or just across the wall is the Valdštejn Garden. We must not forget Petřínské sady, where the Petřín lookout tower is situated together with a mirror maze and a hungry wall. And before you head on the top of the road, there is a memorial to the victims of communism from the Czech artist Olbram Zoubek. And among the sights of modern architecture are the Dancing House, otherwise Ginger and Fred, Jiráskovo square or New Stage of the National Theater.

Transportation: The city is easily reached by airplane, which will land at Václav Havel Airport in Prague Ruzyne, from where it can easily reach the city by public transport. Of course, you can take a taxi from the airport to the hotel.


Kraj Vysočina

The Vysočina region is divided into 5 district districts and is the "most placid" part of the republic, in this unique region we can find several places that have won a place on the UNESCO list. It is, for example, the pilgrimage church of St. Jana Nepomuckého on the Green Mountain, the historical center of Telč and the Basilica of Sts. Prokop together with the Jewish quarter in Třebíč. Pilgrimage places include Křemešník Hill. In the region there are two protected landscape areas, which are Žďárské vrchy and Železné hory.

Another interesting place is the stone bridge in Žďár nad Sázavou. Amongst the castles are the castle Polná, Chotěboř or Budišov. The castles, which are worth seeing, are Kamen, Orlík and Ledec nad Sázavou.

The Mařenka lookout tower is suitable for lovers of heights and prospects in the region. And for those who are still children in the heart, the Svratka Fairy Village is nearby.

The natural monuments in Vysočina include Tisůvka, Prosička and Maršálek.

In Pelhřimov you will find the Chapel of the Holy Cross - Kalvárie, the Třebíč Větrný mlýn or the Future Park near Havlíčkův Brod.

Transportation: It is easy to get to Vysočina by train or bus from Brno, where one of the Czech international airports is located.


Královéhradecký kraj

In this region we can find near the Jičín Prachov Rocks, a sandstone sandstone formation between the protected landscape areas or the beautiful Grandmother's valley in České Skalice. Another natural sight is Broumovské stěny. Another national nature reserve is the Adrspach-Teplice Rocks, where climbing is possible.

Important castles include Dětenice, Nové Město nad Metují, Hrádek u Hranice or Opočno. Among the castles that you should visit include Pecka, Kost, Potštejn and Opočno.

Important monuments include Braun's statues of virtue and vices in Kuksu.

The part of Bohemian Paradise, whose beauty is worth admiring in the spring and summer, when everything blooms, reaches the region. Not far from Špindlerův Mlýn there is the Elbe Waterfall, which you will not see much in the Czech Republic, and the second waterfall is the Pančavský Waterfall.

If you go to the Hradec Králové Region in winter, you will have beautiful slopes in the Krkonoše Mountains, where is also the highest mountain Bohemia - Snezka, where you can visit all the seasons. Medvedin, Montenegro and Mladé Buky are also available.

For animal lovers there is a possibility to visit the zoo in Dvůr Králové, where you can enjoy a unique safari ride.

Transportation: The region can be reached either from the airport in Pardubice, the city in the neighboring region, or from the airport in Prague, but there is a much longer journey by train or by bus. What you choose is just for you.


Plzeňský kraj

The Pilsen Region is situated in the south-west of Bohemia, and its border runs along the borders of the Czech Republic and neighbors with Germany. The region is divided into 7 districts, 3 of which are the regional city of Pilsen, then Klatovy, Domažlice, Tachov and Rokycany.

In this region you will find countless natural beauties, from the Šumava National Park to the Protected Landscape Area of ​​Křivoklátsko. Among the water phenomena, the Vodní hamr in Dobříš, Černé jezero v Šumavě, which has an area of ​​18.4 hectares and, last but not least, the Odlezelské (Mladotické) lake, which is the smallest in the Czech Republic, belongs to the Pilsen Region. A great rarity is Konstantinovy ​​lázně, a place where the mineral carbon dioxide has the highest content of free carbon dioxide.

Among the castles worth seeing include Rabí, Kašperk and Zbiroh. For those of you who prefer monasteries, there are several of them in the region, such as Kladruby Monastery and Plasy Monastery. You can also visit one of the largest medieval squares in the Czech Republic, namely the Republic Square in Pilsen, or you can visit the smallest museum in the Czech Republic, which is located in Křenove and exhibits various types of scales.

Other attractions are Katakomby or the Baroque Pharmacy of the White Unicorn in Klatovy, the concert in Sušice, where the production of matches began already in 1839 and works until today and last but not least the Domažlice slopes tower and for lovers of fauna and flora. Botanic Garden.

Transportation: You can use the airport in the neighboring region of Karlovy Vary or Prague airport to get to the Pilsen region, from where you can easily get by train or bus to your desired destination. It is true that there is an airport in the regional city of Pilsen, but it is public only for domestic flights. As in all regions of the Czech Republic, you can rent a car or take advantage of a taxi service.


Středočeský kraj

The county is divided into 12 districts and in each of them there are several attractions. For example, the whole town of Kutná Hora is unique and belongs to UNESCO monuments, you can find the Gothic fortress of Semes, the Sázava monastery, the Constance and the All Saints' cemetery, Barbora, the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary or, for example, a Gothic stone fountain.

There are countless castles and castles in the Central Bohemian region. From castles such as: Loučeň, Nelahozeves, Konopiště, Kačina, Dobříč, Průhonice, Březnice, Mělník. The castles are: Karlštejn, Křivoklát, Český Šternberk, Kokořín and Točník.

At Příbram we find St. Wenceslas Oak, one of the most important memorial trees in the Czech Republic.

Among the natural sights are Sadská Lake, Lake Lhota or the most famous quarry - Lom Great America. And also the Slapy water reservoir.

Even in this region, we can not forget the horrors of World War II and therefore we can find in the town Lidice, a natural memorial with a preserved atmosphere and a small museum.

Among the protected landscape areas are Křivoklátsko, Kokořínsko, Bohemian Paradise and Bohemian Karst.

Transportation: You can use the Prague Airport to get to Central Bohemia and you can easily reach it by train from Hlavní nádraží, but you can also use smaller stations such as Smíchovské nádraží, where you can find also the bus station or Masarykovo nádraží. You can also use long-distance buses that run from Florenc Central Bus Station or Andel or Holešovice.


Jihočeský kraj

In seven districts of the South Bohemian Region we find important Czech water reservoirs such as Lipno, Orlík or Hněvkovice or Jordan - the oldest water reservoir in the Czech Republic in 1492. From the protected landscape areas you can find here the largest Šumava and further Třeboňsko, which is famous for its carp.

Among the towns you can see is Český Krumlov, where you will find a beautiful castle, the only theater with a rotary auditorium in our country or, for example, Hluboká nad Vltavou with a castle of the same name. The village of Holašovice is situated in Ceske Budejovice, which is unique in a rustic style and is listed on the UNESCO list. The oldest stone bridge can be found in Písek, where it has been built since the 13th century and is decorated with baroque sculptures and when you are in Pisek you will also find the part of the Old Town. And for the lovers of bridges and architectural jewels, we have another type of trip and a so-called "Bechyňské nozze" across the river Lužnice. It is the oldest reinforced concrete bridge from 1926-1928.

Another jewel of southern Bohemia is the Červená Lhota Castle - built in the middle of a pond.

From the ponds there is Rožmberk - the largest Czech pond in this region.

Transport: The South Bohemian Region has an airport, but it is public only for domestic flights. So you can get to South Bohemia the same transport as the Central Bohemian region, it will take a little longer. That means you can use personal trains or pendolins from Hlavni, Masaryk or Smichovsky railway stations. And from the bus service it is the Central bus station Florenc, or Andel and Holešovice.
